How to layer dainty gold necklaces
Thin chains are forgiving — the only rule worth following is spacing. Here are the three ways our pieces get worn most.
On its own
One necklace, sitting at the collarbone
A 16-inch chain lands right on the collarbone and works with a crew neck or an open collar. If you wear one piece and nothing else, make it the one with a stone in it.

Layered
Two chains, two inches apart
Leave at least two inches between lengths so the chains don't tangle — a 16-inch pendant over an 18-inch station chain is the easiest pair to start with.

A bracelet stack that isn't too much
Three is the ceiling: one with stones, one plain chain, one with texture. Keep them all in the same metal tone and the stack reads deliberate instead of busy.

Dainty gold jewelry, made to be worn
Vetalir makes small, quiet pieces for women who put jewelry on in the morning and forget about it until they take it off. Everything has a gold plated finish and everything costs less than fifty dollars — not because it's disposable, but because there's no reason a piece you wear every day should live in a safe.
The store is four categories deep and no deeper. Our dainty necklaces come at 16 and 18 inches so they layer without tangling. The gold drop earrings and huggies are light enough for a full day; the dainty bracelets are built to stack two or three at a time; and the minimalist rings are the ones you'll reach for when your hands do the talking.
We ship free across the USA and give you thirty days to decide. If a piece doesn't sit right on you, send it back — nothing about that needs to be complicated.

Questions we get asked
Does 18K gold plated jewelry tarnish?
It fades rather than tarnishes, and how fast depends almost entirely on what it touches. Water, perfume, sunscreen and chlorine are what wear plating down. Take a piece off before the shower and the pool and it will hold its colour through daily wear.
I react to cheap earrings — will these be okay?
These are plated pieces rather than solid gold, so if you react badly to plated jewelry in general, start with a necklace or a bracelet rather than earrings. If you know you're sensitive to a specific metal, email us before ordering and we'll tell you exactly what a piece is made of.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping is free on every US order, and we ship within the United States only: 1–3 business days for processing, plus 6–13 business days for shipping. You'll get a tracking number by email once it ships; the carrier can take up to 48 hours to start updating it.
What if it doesn't suit me?
Email contact@vetalir.com within 30 days of delivery with your order number and we'll send you return instructions and the address — please don't post anything back before that. The piece needs to be unworn and in its original packaging, and worn earrings can't be returned for hygiene reasons. Return postage is yours on a change of mind, ours if the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect. Once it's back and inspected we start the refund within 5 business days, and your bank takes another 5–10 to show it.
What length necklace should I order?
Sixteen inches sits on the collarbone and is the most versatile length. Eighteen inches falls just below it, which is the one to choose if you're layering two chains — leave about two inches between them so they don't tangle.
How do I look after it?
Wipe it with a soft dry cloth after wearing and keep it in the pouch it came in rather than loose in a drawer. No polish, no jewelry cleaner — polishing compounds strip plating.
